VOIP connections to router

[link to this post]

I have added phone service to my YouFibre account, and they supplied me with their new Wifi & router. The DECT phones are connected to a Gigaset combined landline/VOIP bas station. I had assumed that all that was needed was an ethernet connection between the bas station and the router, but I can only make calls if the BT plug is connected to the 'Phone' socket as well. Am I being stupid?

It's in the router.

In reply to a post by chrisadsl:
Gigaset combined landline/VOIP bas station

Model number might help, but it looks like either your service is not available as VoIP beyond the router or your Gigaset is not configured for your VoIP service.

It's the N300A and I can make and receive calls (though ony to the 0333 number that was allocated at install time). The landline has been ceased, so these must be IP calls.

I haven't been supplied any config info (and YouFibre isn't listed in the Gigaset) so maybe there's more to do there,

EDIT: I raised a ticket with YF and await a reply.
