The fun project aspect is the only reason I'm doing it really. My ultimate not-very-interesting-in-reality goal is to whitelist a few known numbers to directly ring a normal phone, so that we can get hold of the kids when they're home alone, and shunt everything else straight to Lenny. Maybe with a secret code to escape him and get through to the real phone...

I’ve been toying with the idea to build a fresh FPBX box. I have pretty much let the original slide into a deprecated state, so it’s not brilliant: CentOS 6, Asterisk 12! and FPBX is about four versions out of date now 🤣.

Hardware wise I’m now onto my second/spare (Foxconn mini) chassis and second SSD in 10 years. Triggers broom comes to mind. A fresh slate needed.
