After reading this thread I tried to change the automatic account funding back from "active" to "inactive" but I could not find a way to do this.
I wrote a email to Sipgate asking how automatic account funding could be made inactive and I also asked about Sipgate Starter moving forward but no reply so far.
Sipgate normally do reply to emails but phoning has always seemed to be a waste of time.
The reason why I asked about automatic account funding is to keep the balance in the account low so if I cancel with Sipgate I do not have to jump through multiple hoops/barriers to get money left in the Sipgste account back.
As far as I can tell Sipgate will keep any account balance below £6.00 and they will charge a £6.00 admin fee to give back sums of money over £6.00 as long as you jump through their hoops/obsticles, ie. You must ask for it back and provide your personal info / possible your bank info and a copy of your passport.
