Do you still need to connect a line to the master socket? For some reason I thought it was just a cable to the router

Only if you want/have access to an analogue line (like the BT line from the master socket, or a virgin equivalent).

If you just want VoIP (could be from one VoIP provider or several) connect the box to your Ethernet network / router.

Make sense?

Thanks Pheasant makes sense.
I have ported my number from Plusnet to AAISP Voip now, so won't need the analogue line.
I was just trying to figure out how to connect the BT handsets to the N300, as their base had a line from the master to it. Should have just got some nice shiny Gigaset ones lol

Yep. The only way to connect any handsets to an N300 is via DECT, as it’s not an ATA.

If you use Gigaset Dect handsets advance functions like transferring directory entries from one handset to another should work. Advance functions of other brands of handsets likely won't work.

Thanks Michael, I will try that out. Going to order the E390.
Anyone know if AAISP voicemail is free?

Ok so I have a set of E390s phones and the N300 setup. N300 shows both handsets registered (with same details followed: https://support.aa.net.uk/VoIP_Phones_-_Gigaset_N300)
When goto Telephony > Number assignment, there is nothing listed under Handsets ?
Not sure what setting I am missing?
In my AA account I can see both handsets registered under Target menu too.

EDIT: nevermind I didn't register the handsets to the N300 as they were still registered to the base E390A......work now lol
