WiFi calling

I have very poor mobile coverage at my house. I've 2 different mobiles, one with Vodafone and one with O2, and both are poor. I've been trying to use WiFi calling and it seems really laggy. I've got FTTP so it's not my connection that's the problem. Is that normal? Or should I look to move to a VOIP service? I used to have digital voice from BT which worked well but don't have it since I moved broadband provider.

Use wifi calling all the time with 1pmobile/EE, no probs at all. Which is useful as I have an iffy LTE/5G signal at home too.

it is those mobile operaters . i switched to to 1p mobile much better and cost effectivee.

I use 1p mobile (EE network) and it works just fine.
Gf has a Lebara SIM which is on Vodafone network, my advice would be to avoid them as it doesn't work on many phones such as Pixel and Sony. After 18 months of messing about with broken promises of return emails or calls finally today after I pinned a operative down on a voice call and they admitted the problems they are having.

What do you mean by laggy exactly? Typically Wi-Fi calling should be indistinguishable from using the mobile normally, in many cases calls will connect quicker and be of better quality. If there are issues it could be related to the Wi-Fi access point, so if you can test from another location that is worthwhile to rule that out or in.

Sometimes you can find calls are not routed over Wi-Fi unless you have no signal at all, you can try testing putting your phone into airplane mode, then just turning on Wi-Fi, it should after a few seconds allow you to make and receive calls and these will have no option but be Wi-Fi calls, see if that result in something better.
