If you want to use your own router, my advice is to go to an independent VoIP service provider. There are too many proprietary 'standards' out there. An independent VoIP provider will support you to get up and running. ISPs will just tell you to use their router.

TalkTalk have provided me a router with built in ATA ,

Which router is that? 5 months ago Talktalk supplied me with a Eero6 and separate ATA.

its a Talktalk Wi-Fi Hub 3

FAST 5359-1 T7

the ereo router is only available on there 900Mbs package

That's a new one to me, looks to have plenty of sockets plus two VoIP sockets, so a upgrade on the Fast 5354 which I use.
I'm not sure why they supply the faster packages with Eero6 as standard, maybe it has a faster chipset? I got one with my 150 package and it's been put back in it's box, with only two ethernet sockets, one of which is needed for the ATA it's no good for me.
