HTML & Dreamweaver MX 2004

Hi all,

Now that i've finishd my A-Level exams, im job hunting to pay for Car insurance...

but i also want to learn HTML to make a couple of websites for the family buisness. it doesnt need to be the best out there, but decent and hopefully with a bit of flash.

i have the relevent software needed [i hope] but all the courses in my area [west london] all start in april '06, or sept '06 [i'll b in Uni] or jan '07 - i was hoping to use all my free time working and designing.

does anyone know of any decent books [for newbies to web design] or good online courses?

You could start looking at w3schools.com ( I have a few links in favourites to various useful links there)

You want to learn XHTML, CSS and probably javascript.

you might like to look at csszengarden.com and its related book for learning how to present the web pages

When I want a technical book, I usually go to Cambridge (because it is close, any big uni town/city should have a few book shops) and wander around the book shops looking for a book I like the style of on the subject

well i went to my local library [cant really afford to buy any books :P]

and i got a book on Dreamweaver, a book on Flash 5, the non-designers book on web design...and "html complete"...i also reserved a book called "don't make me think"

i hope these help...any other books recomended?
