I use this combination (123reg and namecheap) after recommendations from this board and it works great. Never had to contact support recently however so unsure on what its like if you have any problems.

123-reg has NO support. If you get into difficulties you have to ring a premium rate number (50p or

www.easily.co.uk are a little more expensive than the likes of 123-reg, but at least they are contactable in case of problems.

Agreed.

Here is the geo number that I use for Pipex. I then choose the webfusion support option and explain that no one on the 123-reg side of the company is interested and no-one answers the premium rate phone lines or emails. It's worked for me so far, but I really should take my custom elswhere

I've signed up with namecheap for a .net address and I tried to sign up with 123reg for a .co.uk address.. the first time it said my payment details were wrong so I bashed them in again and it said error. I've just checked the whois for the .co.uk address and it says i've registered it! Wierdos.

I also agree with that. 123-reg are useless at answering email support.
10 days for an answer, and then only to ask if i still had a problem, not answering the original query

I won't be adding any more with them.

Exactly what I warned about!

I had a similar problem with 123-reg, and it took over 2 weeks to sort it out. I had to go through Pipex hosting and demand to speak to one of the managers before I could even get them to accept that they had made a cockup. 3 weeks after registering the domain I was first able to use it.

Yes, that is the route I had to go, eventually. I am still waiting for responses to my emails to support - after 6 months!
