BitRate

[link to this post]

Can anyone advise me what the highest BitRate I can use to stream "Movie" files that are about one and a half to two minutes long. I have been recommended a top rate of 3000 kbit/s for standard definition. I realise it is dependant on connection speed. If however, I am trying to maximise quality, is this a reasonable limit?

Thanks

I reckon that quality issues are as much about source material as anything - the silk purse/sows ear syndrome.

If you have got really good material to start with encoded with a top codec then you're more than half way there. The video recorded in that example wasn't shot on someone's mobile phone :^)
