Feedback on new makeover please!

[link to this post]

Hi all,

What seems like ages ago I got feedback on my current design...well it's time for a makeover as I'm relaunching soon with a whole kaboodle of new content so decided a facelift was required too!

However, I'm on Vista at the mo, as I've lost my legal XP Pro disc IE 7 no longer works for some reason (just crashes each time), leaving me with Bon Echo as my browser, and testing in IE6 is out of the question on Vista afaik. So basically if anyone could provide me with some quick tests across browsers to let me know if it looks consistent, and also feedback on the new design, I'd be very grateful!

OK here's the existing site:
http://www.mob453.com

And here's the site I'm working on:
http://new.mob453.com

Not everything works as yet, and there's just the ringtone content up at the mo, so I know about the 404 errors for those things. But I don't want to waste any more time making the rest of the site with the current layout if it's broken on IE! I have a feeling the top tabs don't work in IE7, but it's still in beta stages so I'll worry about that when it's in it's final release!

Things I'd be very happy to know work:
1. click on the cd cover image thing on the "rest of top ten" area, and let me know if you get a "popup" bubble thing with more info in it, and also if the shadow effect works (it's a png, so I've tried to do what I think is right to enable png transparency in IE...but you never know!)
2. loading speed and general speed.
3. does clicking on the UK link on the ordering page do anything?
4. does the sliding in/out effect work on the "poly" "real" "mono" tabs on the main page under the "rest of top ten" section?
5. does the new design look better?!

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to help

Oh and usual stats: tableless, valid xhtml 1.1 (or should be), etc etc

Nice clean design, like it. The text on the top menu items are a bit blocky, somehow don't fir with the overall look. But otherwide v.good

I like the top menu. They seem to be the new craze recently

The background hover colour does not shown on IE6 when you move over the different albums. I have no problem loading in the website Opera.

Hips Dont Lie
Shakira

Voodoo Child
Rogue Traders

Maneater
Nelly Furtado

and so on.

Thanks for the feedback so far Been a bit of a headache getting some stuff to work so at least it seems to be showing up as it should

@ oleo and bigtart - could you let me know which browser you're using?

IE6 will be missing some hover effects as it doesn't support the :hover property of most elements...I guess I could add the mouseover method as well though for IE6 users.

I really should do a format of my PC to get IE6 working again!

Opera, Netscape, Firefox all seem consistant. IE 6, yes, hover not working on the blue backgounds also the mob453 graphic not displayed on the left hand side and top nave hover blinks sort of.

Have fun Cheers
