Mailing list - suggestions please.

[link to this post]

I've got a requirement to create a mailing list for occasional reminders to go out to a list of interested people.

I got Mailman setup on my account and started playing around with it but to be honest it is way over the top for my requirements.

I use Thunderbird as my mail client and as a stop-gap I created a mailing list and sent my first reminders out using no To: field, only BCC: (I don't want to give away email addresses when I'm not authorised to). The email doesn't look right though because it arrives with a "to:" field of unknown recipient.

I'm looking for alternatives and would appreciate any insight into the options that are available to me.

Since you are already using Thunderbird, there are various approaches outlined here.

The answer to the question "how much effort will it take?" is usually "not a lot.".

After searching around, I'm trying out "MailList Controller 7.2" which runs 'locally' off an Access DB. I got the free version and although I've only sent tests up to now it seems to be the middle ground that I was looking for (things like personalising the email with fields from the DB). If anybody has used it and had either good or bad experiences I'd be interested to know.
