so Google have now released their SSL Secure search, so far only at:
https://www.google.com/
meaning of course, that it sets up a secure connection and any searches through that facility will withold any referrer info, basically that it was a search through Google (where they came from) and what the search terms were (keywords).
of course, once landing on a site, visitors are still tracked normally via that site's webstats, as are any onward clicks to any other sites.
It's just the initial search and the landing page from Google that's affected.
not tried it out much yet, but it doesn't seem to be any slower..
no 'UK only' search, but they had already messed that up anyway for non IE users
Bad news for web-masters and Marketing?
i wonder what the unintended consequences might be?
