e-mail address

Firstly, my apologies if this is the wrong place to post this!

I'm in the process of changing from AOL to BT as my ISP. I believe that I can still use/access my main e-mail address which I use for business via "@aol.co.uk".

However particularly as it's business related, I'm aware that I should probably have got an unrelated address before now but I have to admit getting very confused on the few occasions when I've looked into it.

So, assuming this is the correct place to post this, can someone advise me re getting an e-mail address? Certainly at this stage I'm not interested in having a website etc etc, just an e-mail address which isn't connected to an ISP. And obviously at a decent price!!

PS. I currently use Thunderbird to bring several address into the one place.

You can use any of the reputable hosting companies costs up to £30 for all the bells and whistles I use Hostway.co.uk and have done for a number years and a few accouts for various people mid range in price easy to set up and the help system is first class, but you will find cheaper if cost is youre main concern.

Thanks, but I want a personalised address. I already have Gmail and Yahoo addresses!

Register a domain name with someone like Daily.co.uk, then either have them (or someone you trust) host email or set up a redirect to a gmail or yahoo address.

If you were to move to AAisp instead, you would get a real domain and email too.

At a minimum price of £20 a month for just 10.25GB, the bulk of it evenings and weekends ? I don't think so!

WHat I have done is purchased a .co.uk domain with 123-reg at £7.xx for 2 yrs. I have then set up the mail forwarding to my email address which is given by my ISP.

1050GB. The day rates are a bit restrictive though. You'll find BT will come down on you hard for using equivalent amounts, and you'll get dire performance all day.
