Sharepoint

Not quite sure if it should go here or software development, but does anyone have experience with Sharepoint development? In particular, I would like to put a shift rota on there - I know I can just upload an Excel or Word document, but I want it to look a bit flashier and from what I have been told, sharepoint allows you to do this.

No idea, but you might try Skydrive. Hotmail/MSN account needed, and seems similar to google docs, but with more functionality.

All Connection Data ~ plusnet

Scottish Labour politician: The SNP are on a very dangerous tack. What they are doing is trying to build up a situation in Scotland where the services are manifestly better than south of the border in a number of areas.

Interviewer: Is that a bad thing?

Scottish Labour politician: No, but they are doing it deliberately.

Sharepoint is really good for this kind of function.

You can create 'lists' which are effectively database tables that you can then link together. I created a complete CRM solution in Sharepoint 2007 (WSS v3.0 - the free version) quite quickly.

Just sit down and figure out what information you need ie

locations
departments
users

and how they might relate to each other.

Also do a search for "Sharepoint Fantastic 40" templates. there might be something that you can use.

This is a business thing, so the sharepoint is already setup on a secure network - web stuff is no good for it smile
