FTP provider UK

[link to this post]

Can anybody recommend a UK FTP provider.

I like to keep backups of my current website myself so that I do not have to rely on the provider for restoring files.

My existing host has decided they are not happy about me doing this even though it is within my space limits

Looking for 30-50 GB FTP storage - That allows me to backup the whole site at least once.

Currently I was just backing up the active Drupal install and database which was using about 600 - 700MB per backup that I was taking.

Obviously price is a consideration but more space would always be welcome.

Looking for SSH / SFTP and Rsync if possible.

Thanks

I’ve got 1TB of ‘free’ cloud storage with my MS Office 365 sub and a couple of TB with iCloud.

Google Drive. You can use the Windows/Mac software to keep folders synced, or use rclone on the command line.

Just in case you weren't aware: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2025/02/micro...

I have changed my sub to avoid the extra £30.

I never buy or (auto)renew through MS directly. Always third party.

Last renewal I paid £53 for a Family 365 sub.

I usually buy the family 365 sub from Amazon on their black friday prime sales - that was £55.99 in November so just £3 more than you paid and included Norton 360 (not that I will ever let modern Norton software anywhere near my devices). My current sub now runs to December 2026 so going to be a while before I need to worry.
