new numbers on availablility checker?

hi all.
BT advise that it'll be 24 hours after installation for a number to appear on their availability checkers.

i need mine to be on there so i can sign up for a new ISP.

our line is now active as of yesterday (i.e. ringing tone) but dead in the house - an engineer is expected on thursday.

anyone know when my number is likely to show up, from their experience?

i am likely to sign up with freedom2surf after bring unimpressed with plusnet's customer service.

The number will generally be in the exchange checker a day after BT complete the installation work. If that happened yesterday and the dead line is a fault then the availability checker should be updated at some point today. If the installation is still open at BT it may not be added until it's all sorted.
