This is a discussion forum about ISP's, not for jokes, i think you're in the wrong place.

Off topic posts are part of the rules of this forum, not to mention I find that particuarly abusive since the joke is on someone else behalf which is never funny for the person(s) it's on behalf of.

Forgive me for wanting the moderators enforce the rules.

And I do realise that this post is off topic, but i would not have had to make it if people weren't making jokes in the first place, maybe you can see why they have these kinds of rules now?

Even the most serious of places have to have a little frivolity now and then...

It's how difficult issues are faced by we humans. Not that Ace imposing a little throttling is the end of the world.... Apart from for those downloading 2.25TB/month on Ace...

Nope im not one of those, between the 3 PC's in the house we download little over 50-60Gb a month these days, however we NEED the freedom to download more should we require it, this most CERTAINLY includes the fact that the average size of media is constantly increasing but the standard caps (20-30gb) are not!

This household simply cannot do with a cap as low as 20-30 Gb like standard ISP's seem to offer, but we not one of the heavy leechers, I dont believe i've gone over 100Gb a month before.

Except with the possible exception of when I was at uni, our connection would reguarly be over 1000k/s and I had access to....well lets say it rhymes with "popsites" and "pumps"

As for the jokes, well it's all fun and games, but I'd bet you'd be on the other side of the fence if it was YOU that was the butt of the jokes/comments.

Ace internet ? Well, don' t they deserve just a little poking fun at ?
Their customers ? Well, I am one of those, and don't feel put out at all.

It wasn't even nasty. Just a small quip that's all.

I dont think anyoen should poke fun at anyone, much less Ace, they've been effected by sudden changes by their suppliers of which they were given no official warning.

Even if Ace did "deserve it" this is certainly not the place to be doing it, I thought these were serious boards, the more I read them the less certain I become of that, seems like people can make any kind of remark they like as long as you keep the real meaning somehow inbertween the lines you're ok.

I think ACE are a complete joke. I mean that in the most venomous, harsh way possible.

A little light heartedness makes the medicine that the sceptics were right all along, and that my faith in Ace was perhaps just a little misguided, just a little bit easier for me to swallow.

BTW: It's "affected", not "effected"
