Re: Fast.co.uk - Top On ISP Review

[re: deleted] [link to this post]

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply, just to clarify ...

We use BT Max Standard and Premium products, and offer an "up to" 8Mbps service like any ISP using broadband max products.

The only promise we make is that we'll spend time with any customer who wants it making sure they get best performance out of their line, within the bounds of their line quality and exchange contention.

To further add to this we're not trying to compete based upon price, so will clearly not appeal to many where price is the deciding (or major contributing) factor, but do appeal to those who require a certain level of service from their broadband ISP - for example wanting UK Telephone Support, or no traffic shaping on their connection etc.

Hope that clears up any confusion there might be about what we offer.

Regards,

Mark

Fast connections without any P2P restrictions or port blocking.
Top reliablility. (100% in my experience)
The best ever customer support i have ever experienced from an ISP.
Good old fashioned individual attention and service.

These are facts that do not appear on ISP rating tables; but it can make a huge difference. Fast.co.uk provide them with middle of the road pricing.

I have just joined Fast.co.uk. You get what you pay for, UK based phone support, answered quickly and unfailingly courteous. I needed to ask them for help setting router up and they very patiently explained it to me. i have heard/read horror stories about all isps but if you look around on the reviews most comments about Fast.co.uk are very positive. Would I recommend to others? Yes definately!

Having been with some of the really big providers before I don't think the number of pipes makes a difference as a provider could have 10 centrals all heavily loaded with traffic management in place, where as another could have 4 pipes with users doing less, not downloading 24/7, and therefore not needing traffic management so giving a better service to those users.

So the amount of pipes makes little difference IMO, it's more down to how they're managed, and what type of customer is on them.

I don't think that have their own pipes but instead takes wholesale feeds from other providers.

I would tend to agree that strictly speaking this is not an important point
