I expect he means he is getting 6Mbps on his line due to the line condition (lucky!) and that his ISP say they'll ensure he gets the best from it, rather than Fast promising everyone 6Mbps which isn't the case if you look at their website - and clearly isn't technically possible.

Due to the condition of my line I get 2.5Mbps most the time which is good enough for me, I can only dream of 6Mbps

Fast Co Uk had a very large capacity and loads of central pipes. Speed around between 6 Meg and 7 Meg at all times. Support is excellent, even they did promise a phone call back and they did. Expensive but you get what you are paying for a highest quality service. No other isp's can match Fast Co Uk of great performance. Once you join them, you will never left them for other isp.

Unless they're using Datastream/LLU it's really reckless saying you can get it all the time because they can't control contention at the exchange.

Fast Co Uk do not use Datastream or LLU. They use BT Ipstream Max for home and BT Ipstream Max Premium for office. The reason they capped at 100GB for Max up to 8Mbps to kept the network under control and to avoid any greedy heavy downloading to join them. If went over 100GB limit then the speed are throttling at 56K speed until next billing date. Not suitable for any heavy downloading such p2p.

All of our packages offer up to 8mb/sec download speeds, using Broadband Max technology, your Broadband service will be supplied at the highest speed your line can support.

I don't wish to start a war here as clearly most of you are far more knowledgeable than I, but surely this is nonsense is it not! How is this different from any other ISP offering MAX? Maybe their network is substantial but so are others; NewNet springs to mind.

And as mentioned, their costs are quite high for what you get - I pay on Sky

they don't appear to offer anything that other isp's can offer for less. They say they give good speeds but in the end that is out of their control and is dependant on external factors such as the length of line.

Also it's a 3 month contract.

Oh, and vivaciti offer a 120gb peak / 390gb off peak for less than

IDNET HomeMax
Sync'ed At 6368/448 Kbps
