512kb to 1Mb download ISP

Hi. Good news and Bad news.

The Good News is that I've finally found a house that I like and next week I'm moving in.
The Bad News is that it's a couple of miles from the exchange as the crow flies, and all checkers are telling me that I can only get around 512kb ((( What a PITA!

So who would be the best to go for?

I can't really work out how much I currently download per month, but I'm guessing it's around the 100Gb mark. And at that poor speed it looks like my download PC will be permanently switched on constantly downloading.

Do you have a cable provider in your area, as that may be an alternative; especially for your relatively high monthly usage!

I'm thinking perhaps UKonline's up to 1Mb service ??

Don't forget the checker (better known as the guesser) is a tad on the conservative side. Did the person who last had the place have broadband, and if so what did they have (that is of course if you know who was there last)

My stats are poor,
noise margin downstream: 8 db
output power upstream: 12 db
attenuation downstream: 63 db

but just migrated to a 2meg fixed speed with Vivaciti
