Broadband, TV and Calls?

[link to this post]

hi guys

I need a little help. I've recently moved to my own place in Islington and unfortunately I'm now responsible for figuring out what broadband I need to get.

Problem is there's so many and I can't figure out what to go for. I'm hoping you guys can point me in the right direction if I tell you what I'm looking for.
I basically want this:

freeview tv and maybe some other channels if part of package, but not necessary
about 1-2GB capacity per month, 6-8MB speed min
phone with cheap international calls (I was thinking about an internet phone, but have never used one before and not sure how it works
preferably everything in one package because I cant be bothered with multiple bills.

any help would be appreciated and please please please make it simple like - "go for this it covers x,y and z" because I get easily confused with this stuff.

Thanks!

Sarah

An LLU provider will give you the best download speeds and provide "deals" of phone and connection (and TV via Sky for example) etc. So it would be wise to actually check what ADSL services you can get first - before parting with any cash.

Use the link I have put below and it will tell you exactly what ADSL services you can get by just putting in your post code or phone number (i.e. it may say "Sky LLU" or "Be LLU" - that means you can use Sky or Be and they are an LLU service).

Link to ADSL services checker.

You may find you can use an LLU provider such as Sky or Be and then get more bang for your bucks.

Hi tony

thanks for that - my exchange shows :
BT Wholesale ADSL
BT Wholesale ADSL Max
BT Wholesale SDSL
AOL LLU
Be LLU
Bulldog LLU
TalkTalk (CPW) LLU
Sky Broadband / Easynet LLU
Homechoice LLU
Pipex LLU
Tiscali LLU
Orange LLU (Formerly Wanadoo)
Virgin Media (Cable

Do any of these stand out as being particularly good packages? At the moment I'm leaning towards Sky..
