What would be the best ISP for me?

I am a student and I'm looking to move into a rented property in the next week. I plan to rent the property for around 10 months so I'll be looking for an ISP without a 12 month contract. I would like my connection to be as cheap as possible, but I am still looking for a fast download speed with a usage quote of around 15gb+ and a connection good enough for some occassional gaming. Also note there is no telephone line provider at the moment so i'd need to get one (any deals for a telephone line provider/ISP would be good) though I probably won't use the line much for making telephone calls.

The property I am renting is 2.95km from the nearest exchange according to samknows.com with the following LLU services:

Does the property have an existing phone line?

Yes it does but it isn't connected with BT or anyone else at the moment.

It is possible that BT do not charge for connecting if there is a line still there, as no real work needs to be done. Ring sales and ask.

In theory any of the LLU suppliers can also get it re-activated free, but most either don't know or won't.
