Cheap ISP

[link to this post]

I am using Zen Internet for my ISP but I am looking for another provider, so that I have two. I used to have two so I have the wiring installed already.

What is an inexpensive ISP I could use for my second ISP? I have SKY+ if that makes any difference - I know SKY has a broadband service, not that I know anything about it.

Will I still be hit by a startup fee?

Thanks,

Jon

If you can get Sky's LLU service (check at Samknows) then you can sign up to Sky Max at 10 a month with no setup fee. Sky Connect is an IPStream service and probably best avoided.
BT might charge to activate the second line if not already in use, though.

Regards,
Steve

Is SKY Max an ADSL 2+ service?

Using this http://www2.farina1.com/adsl/ ...I have got these results...

If you are on a Max product, that uses the IP Profile system (sometimes called BRAS Data Rate) if you maintain the above line speed for 3 days or more your IP Profile would be set to: 4Mbps

Does that mean that is the top speed I will get with Sky Max?

Max doesn't refer to Sky Max, it is ADSL Max, the BT Wholesale product that is up to 8Mb. You might get a bit more on ADSL2+ but really need line stats to give a better estimate.

Now they are:

4832

Is the Noise Margin better when the figure is lower or higher? What about Line Attenuations?
