[link to this post]

I'm about to get a MAC code from F2S. Up to 8MB line speed will be fine. I currently download 5GB a month but on rare occasions more if I'm looking at a new Linux ISO.Can anybody give me a steer?

I don't think you'll go wrong with either. IDNet would be a bit cheaper on the 5GB package at 18 and just pay the extra for occasional over usage.

Thanks I think I will give Idnet a try. I'm now concerned I may have been stealth migrated to LLU following the takeover of F2S by Tiscalli.

From the IDNet FAQ:

Do you accept LLU MAC's?

As long as your line rental is still with BT we can accept LLU migration requests. You can place your order online via the web site or over the phone with the Support Team.

IDNet don't charge for LLU migrations. I moved from f2s LLU to IDNet with no problems, you'll find other ex-f2s people there.

You didn't give me a chance to recommend IDNET. They are also a very ethical and customer orientated isp. Bring a sense of humour over to idnetters at www.idnetters.idnet.co.uk Always a warm wlcome and plenty of help and advice.
