ISPs that are careful about blocking connections

Seeing Entanet having apparently blocked a customer's connection for an unknown (at time of posting) reason, do you good posters know your or other ISPs' policies on blocking connections - and re-instating them ASAP, especially after a phone call to support which to my mind shows good faith on the part of the customer?

I'd have thought ISPs would block for non-payment of bill, spamming, and using the internet for abuse purposes.

If a user falls into any of those categories their protestations of innocence would fall onto deaf ears as far as I am concerned.

His problem is that the user concerned cannot contact anyone, as Jason of ukfsn is not available for family reasons and Entanet just refer the user to ukfsn.

The reasons for and rights or wrongs of the block are irrelevant. I once had my direct debit for the HP of my car refused by the bank for no good reason. Should my car have been immediately repossessed by the HP company without warning?

Edit for my fellow pedants before any reply - "Should their car have been immediately repossessed ...."

I deliberately didn't look at the link (and neither will I now). We tend to get a very one-sided version of events and I've seen too many people "try it on" to put too much faith in a one-sided story.

Quite sensible. However I had read the relevant thread beforehand and I can assure you that the bit I just told you is the relevant one that is unquestionable.

Jason himself had earlier said in a different thread altogether that he is basically unavailable.

The reasons for the blocking as you say are likely to have two sides, but the blocking side is absent and unavailable even to the blockee by Jason's own previous statement - which the blockee is under no obligation to have seen .
