It's just about time to move on and find a new ISP.

My exchange is WSBAL and my router stats are ;

Connection Speed 7776 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 8.0 db 2.5 db
Noise Margin 15.3 db 28.0 db

Any help/direction/constructive criticism appreciated.

If you are happy with who you are with and you get a good service for the price you want to pay then stay where you are.

I have no plans at the moment to move.

Your exchange has no LLU and is not 21CN enabled. So, you will only get the same BT IPStream from all ISPs as you are getting now; the only differentiator will be price and T&Cs, including any Traffic Management and usage limits.

Download amounts and budget? Overnight scheduled downloads possible?

I am currently with Demon and have been for many years (I was on their original "tenner a month" dial up plan). Recently the throughput on their service has been painfully slow and after many many phone calls and chat sessions with their support team they have told me that there is a problem with the Demon network (not just my connection) but they are unable to tell me when there is likely to be a resolution. I first started to notice the slow down about 8 months ago and when I reported it I was told that a network engineer was working on the problem. Since then things have gradually worsened to the point where I think that the only solution would be to move to a different ISP.

If thats the case then i'd probably go for plusnet or even dare i say it BT !

I agree it's worth trying out Plusnet as long as the OP is aware of their network/traffic management regime.

The traffic shaping looks a bit suspect but to be honest, Plusnet's shaped traffic is faster than what I'm currently getting from Demon.
