Zen or Uno or AAISP or Aquiss?

[link to this post]

Hey everyone

Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Currently with EE at the moment and speeds are getting slow and time for renewal anyway. I'm convinced speeds are down to line issue but not 100% sure.

I've narrowed it down to zen, Uno, AAISP and Aquiss.

Which would you recommend out of this shortlist and I presume these would be better than EE?

I would add in IDNet and take out Aquiss.

Unless something has changed with Aquiss, business traffic is prioritised over domestic accounts during the working day. I'm not sure whether I could really tell the difference in practice but the TBB single thread speed tests results were very variable.

In terms of your choices, I would go AAISP > Uno > Zen > Aquiss

Adding IDNet in and taking Aquiss out would result in AAISP > Uno > IDNet > Zen

Which funnily enough is directly proportional to the cost of connection. If you want the best service, you need to pay for it.

I'm with IDNet and have no qualms recommending them, but I am not willing to consider moving to Uno or AAISP as it takes me over the threshold of what I am willing to pay per month.

Please note that these comments relate to the standard Uno product and not the Uno Duo product which is pitched against the budget providers. Much lower cost but lower performance guarantees to match.

Things have very much changed since you were a customer. At the time we were waiting for our new core network to be completed which has now been in service the past 12 months.

I have been with AAISP for some years, and am delighted with them.

My choice would be AAISP > Uno > Zen .

If you are in an area served by Hyperoptic they would be 2nd in my list.

Another vote for AAISP. I have been with them now for 18 months and my line has been consistently fast and stable. Although they do not offer unlimited broadband, they do offer the ability to change the package each month along with a 50% carry forward of data. I now find that a single month of 2TB every 3 months works well for me: the rest of the time I accept the 300GB plan.

We don't no...less than 5% of our customers who have landlines with us, actually make calls. Furthermore, of that 5%, the majority make less than £3 of calls, so the need for a call plan is rather pointless.

Martin

Very true as my parents has dumped anytime calls plan @ £8 a month extra because they only making local area calls 3 times a month totally £1.30 as it seem pointless to have this anytime calls plan.

Also, for myself I just using my mobile unlimited minutes call and use my own line only (no calls plan) for broadband until FTTP come along to get rid of copper line.

A year ago I ditched my landline altogether. Pure mobile broadband now.

You need to know you have a good signal before taking that step though.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Three 4G, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up.

Yes it true. I got a very good deal £10 a month with 12GB data for 4G (always very good signal here) and unlimited texts and unlimited minutes with no contract. (with plusnet mobile from ee network)

You probably didn't notice this thread was started nearly a year ago, I expect the OP has made a decision on which ISP to use by now.smile

I agree. Add IDnet to the list, then you can’t really go wrong with any of the choices. Then it boils down to speeds, price points, contract terms, free routers, caps, initial costs, etc.

I am on IDnet. Latency and speeds are great. I would stay away from the Billion routers they will sell you with a connection.

I suggest you look at two things yourself.

1) The date stamp of the OP.
2) The post immediately chronologically preceding yours.
