Tiscali marker ordering

[link to this post]

Hi there, I'm a newbie but was recommended this site as a good place to tell my tale of Tiscali related woe...

Here's the story:

Mid October, my partner and I move into our new flat. She wants to move her Tiscali bband account from her current address. Fine, no problem they say, will be done in 3 weeks tops.

4 weeks later, we call and are told '2 more weeks'. 2 weeks later we're told 'Oh there's a problem with your line. You need to talk to BT.' BT are exceptionally helpful and tell us that Tiscali have only just ordered the marker. We call Tiscali back and cancel both the order and the account.

2 weeks later, we call BT to check to see if the line's free. And find out that Tiscali have cancelled our order and then REORDERED the marker without our permission, so we have to wait another 2 weeks to get the line cleared. Call BT on the 17th and they assure us that there is no marker.

Chase BeThere up today and guess what? There's a marker on the line. Call BT who tell me 'It's Tiscali, it was ordered on 19th Jan and completed 10th feb'

It will now be at least 5 working days before this is cleared, and then another 10-15 working days for BeThere to order/install our bband. By then we'd have been waiting 6 months to get bband up and running, and Tiscali have re-ordered the marker twice without our permission.

I now feel like a character in a Kafka story...is there anything we can do to stop Tiscali repeatedly ordering markers for our line months after we cancelled our account with them?

Its possibly too late as if the orders been placed to clear the line all you can do is wait.

But if it has not, you could ask Tiscali for a MAC code, and that way you can transfer from Tiscali without them having to Cease (remove the marker)

Ta, my partner (who had the account) has spoken to them and they're saying 'We've no idea', altho they've also admitted that yes, it is their marker...

I guess my main point is: is this legal? Twice now they've placed an order without our permission, surely this can't be right?
