cheap as chips

[link to this post]

hi all

got a mate whom wants to get broadband his main problem is money

he needs it as cheap as possible with connection free and if posible free modem (but i would probably be able to get him to buy a modem new if it was best) MAX would be nice as he can get approx 6.5mb on max from BT and samknows. no LLU. but anything of 2mb is alright as he is moving from dial up so anything is a improvment.

hes ok with a contract but would like as short as possible (F2S is in the running because of this)

hes looking at no more than

pipex -> Plusnet -> Metronet (very happy untill evil plusnet takeover) -> NewNet (looking good so far)

There's no chance he'll get connection free, free modem AND a minimum contract - it would be commercial suicide for any company to do this, the connection has to be paid for somehow and so does the modem!!

Finally free of the nightmare of CPBB -> Fast24 -> Tiscali
