Filtered ISP?

First let me say I am very happy with my current ISP, and would not consider changing if it were not for the fact that I know my current connection has been abused by a guest.

Does anyone know if there are any 'filtered ISPs' in the UK as there are in the US? As my connection is used by a number of different people and I want to continue to allow guests free access to my PC and connection I would like to know that there is noway that they can use that freedom to view inappropriate material. (We all know what I mean).

Where as I am a little reluctant to hand control and censorship over to another party I am also very well aware that parental filter software is too easy to circumvent even when protected by password etc, lets face it all software is in essence stoppable with the right know-how.

Can anyone help?

Hey kneewax,

If you're happy with your ISP then I would recommend a Parental Control Software solution.

There are many different solutions available which you can install on your computer(s) that will restrict access to websited with 'inappriopriate' material.

Thanks Samara, I have tried several software filters, all of which are easy to shut down, circumvent or simply fool. Can you suggest any that are more bullet-proof?

We have a hosted content filtering service for our Broadband customers. As the account holder you can disable with your broadband password it while you are browsing, if you so wish.

You can get Parental control software as an add on in some routers, my guess is it could probably still be easily circumvented by using a proxy.
