Recomend one more time please

[link to this post]

Thinking of using one of these ISPs: ID Net, Metronet, Newnet, which is best allrounder for a low - medium user (5GB),might not get MAX due to line length of 4.5 crow flying kilometers but doesn't matter as I live in a rural area, :-)

Thanks in advance,

Mac

As Metronet are part of the PlusNet 'family' they are probably best avoided IMHO.

Of the other two, you shouldn't go far wrong with either, judging by user feedback - I can recommend NewNet from personal experience, their packages appear to offer better value than IDNet's for your estimated usage.

The Plusnet of 6 months ago or more ago should definitely have been avoided. Things are very, very different now.

For 6GB usage Plusnet's Broadband Plus would not be suitable, but PAYG with 6GB peak (8am to midnight) and unlimited off-peak is

IDnet is by far the best bet. Really helpful CS and Support, reliable and friendly.

I migrated from PlusNet's supposedly "virtually unshaped" 10GB PAYG package less than 6 months ago - until I started using NewNet's service, I hadn't fully realised just how poor PlusNet's service was.

Support (ticket and call handling) picked up around six months ago. Speeds picked up in February for PAYG and March for everyone else. They have added 3 segments on a 5th Central. I now get 600K bytes/sec on binary Usenet all evening - rather different to when you left!

Any of those will be fine if you are only a user that does (5GB) a month, infact id say almost any ISP will be ok for you...... apart from the obvious very bad ones such as tiscali etc, everyone should avoid them.

If i was you id use the compare feature on this site and see who can offer you the cheapest deals, 5Gig a month is not much at all and ISPs love light users so look around first.

Use Compare or Search to make your own informed decisions; I can say from personal experience that NewNet are fantastic; solid and quality connections with great customer support.
