Your best bet would be too look through their respective forums and judge for yourself. As a control you should also look through the Pipex forum to get a reality check.

Sky. Stay away from TalkTalk.

If you're a gamer you might want to look at UKFSN (Entanet) as pings on Sky tend to suck.

Personally I'd go for neither of those. I wouldn't touch TalkTalk at all (I know people who have had a lot of hassle both from them and their parent company, Carphone Warehouse), and I'm told Sky's transfer rates and latency (ping) times can be very variable and sometimes awful.

Of course if you have a medium-to-high Sky package for TV then the relative cheapness of adding ADSL into the mix compared to going with another provided could make it a good deal for you.

I would recommend an Enternet reseller to most people (I go through Vivaciti myself). While they sometimes have speed issues I've only once seen my connection (when in active use, of course) drop much below the data rates of a 2Mb fixed-speed product and the latency has always been pretty constant at the sort of level I'd expect for an interleaved line in this part of the country.

idNet also tend to come highly recommended, though I have not used them myself. I get the impression that their network doesn't see quite the same dip in individual's speed (as often seen on Enternet between 10pm and midnight when it tends towards 2Mb) so if you don't need the high quota's offered by the enternet products you might find idNet more suitable.
