Agreed. I've been with them for just over 2 weeks with little more than 0.9mbps in the evenings despite being on their up to 8mb and I'm already looking at moving. If they ask for

It is a bit like getting 'great quality fresh fish', at a famous fishing port market, and expecting the same quality in the middle of the country, 1000's of miles away...

even virgin has different parts - cable, adsl through BT, using bad quality NTL lines...

The only reason I would call Virgin Cable better, is that BT does not get 'in the way' bringing down the whole quality of support/engineering service...

the only real advice, is to find ISP that has a short contract - there are a few that offer 1 or 3 months, so you can leave if you find problems...

It is up to you to take the gamble, what I would do is click on the 'username' of a post, to see if they have filled in where they live.. If they have not done this, they are just making it worse for the rest of us...

and yes, 'anonymous', that means you should register a name, too!!!

I'm pretty sure that VM offer a 28 day guarantee, so if you are not happy with the service, you can always cancel.

I reckon that's as good as having a short term contract

- Unless the service goes downhill after a month

lol, this is EXACTLY what I'm planning to do too. Tiscali are utter rubbish, I can't wait for my contract to expire.

If signing up for VM - don't go for the bundle deal as it ties you to a 12 month contract.. whereas the ADSL only packages let you cancel month to month with a month's notice.. although may be suspectible to the ~

as fa as I can see, all VM is subject to 12 month contract...
