i need an isp for my mum to use in the summer months
she will only be here about 4 months only
whats the best solution?
i take it there maybe cancellation charges?
then she will want it the next year again etc..

The best solution will depend on a lot of factors. Why not use an internet cafe?

everything is already in place as she used to have broadband

I think your problem will be to find the cheapest option to start/stop the broadband service every year. It might even be cheaper to start and not stop. The start/stop charges might be more than 8 months fees with a low usage on NewNet say.

Closest I can think of is www.lixxus.co.uk

They have a Start Basic PAYG service that doesn't charge if you don't use it, the downside is that according to the FUP, you can only have 2 months (60 days) of no-usage periods in the year.

Now that BT have a startup and cessation fee on broadband, it's almost worthwhile finding a provider that charges around 10-12 PCM or one that gives a discount if you pay up-front for a years service (Namesco, Newnet both have a "lite" package) the total for a year might be less than the cost of 4 months service plus the startup and cessation fee!
