Zen Internet

[link to this post]

I am leaving Eclipse - given downlaod speeds are down to 2kbps for me now on a 8mpbs connection, web pages barely load.

I am thinking of Zen - I am after someone with good customer service and very good reliability - in terms of the connection not going down frequently. Eclipse did have good reliability/service for the first 3 years I was with them. I am willing to pay for good reliability.

I am not sure if I should go with Zen's 8000 Active (20GB) or 8000 Pro (50GB). I do a lot of online gaming, download some music and video.

Zen seem rather costly though, but I have heard they have good customer service and their connections are solid and reliable. Does this seem true?

Thank you - I look forward to any advice.

Have a look at the Entanet resellers such as ADSL24 / UKFSN / Vivaciti amongst others.
ID NET and Newnet are also very good according to many posters on TBB.

Zen are good although a little pricey. If you don't want to pay that much go with Entanet. You will receive the same service

You could look at NewNet Compare very highly regarded on these boards; I found them to be excellent in all areas and only moved for a bundled deal!

Hi
I was with Zen for over a year, no real problems but as a cost saving exercise I decided to call around. I called one of the more expensive Entanet resellers and the MD answered the phone, he was very pleasant, friendly and helpful and purely because of this I changed.
With Enta people my download limit was fantastic especially off peak and service was fine but things were not as reliable and consistant, things changed, pipes filled up, support phones would not be answered while on the forums they insinuated we were liars about no answer on phones (later admitted they had a phone fault), sent a rude email to customers complaining about late payments, when actually the company who handled their direct debits went bust or something which meant every month had to pay by paypal or similar. I may have just been unlucky but you asked for opinions. sounded great and for a month was, then I went back to Zen, where it just works.
thanks

Be careful with Zen if you try to upgrade. I did and also changed my credit card details in a telephone call. They didn't take the payment (they got the number wrong), then threatened to cut me off for their error.

Always a risk when you give out such information over the telephone. You should have got them to read the details back to you

I would suggest as above posters stated - Entanet resellers such as ADSL24 / UKFSN / Vivaciti.

Zen is also good but expensive. I think they are more expensive than idnet (which is very good).
