Will need to choose ISP soon..

We're hopefully moving home in a couple of months, so I will be looking for a new ISP for my new home. I'd like up to 8mbs, and our useage is probably typical of a family.. my girls like to play online games (cbeebies etc), and the eldest likes watching some bits on YouTube. I do some web design, and run a fairly busy forum, so am on quite a bit.. and I download occasionally.

I'd ideally like around the

Thanks.. we do have Sky, but I saw lots of bad reports when it first launched broadband.. not sure how it is now. I'm with F2S at the moment, and personally haven't had any problems, and I'm also looking into Demon. Thanks for the compare link.

Is the area you moving to LLU unbundled???

If it is you could have betheres lite service with upto 24Mb download speed and 4 gig of included usage for just 14 quid a month, or if thats not enough go for their unlimited package for just 24 a month.

If its not a bethere area check if its a easynet/ukonline/sky area... you can get a ukonline LLU upto 22Mb service for just 24.99 a month, which is good as unlimited (500 gig) or if you dont need all this speed they do a LLU 8Mb service also for just 19.99 a month which is bang on your budget

If the area you are moving doesnt have LLU services, consider a Entanet reseller (ukfsn, adsl24 and viviciti in particular) the entanet resellers wot give you as much speed as an LLU service in most cases but they all know their products well and provide a solid reliable connection. My advice though is get a LLU service if you can and break free of BT max services and all the silly caps they have.

I just moved from Pipex to Sky and must say that I am impressed so far, router arrived promptly, activated the day they said, worked as soon as I plugged it in and billing has been spot on for the move over. I have not had a problems so can not make any comment on customer service.

Pipex have gone down hill so I would not recommend them but the Enta resellers seem to have a very good rep and had I not had the choice of Sky would have gone with one of them.

Oh I am on the Max service, sync'ing at just under 16Mbit. Hope gives you a little bit of help regarding Sky, well my 2 pence worth anyway.
