NIldram are about to LLU me on to tiscali hardware, need to jump ship fast, looking for unlimited ideally, failing that 30gig peak, unlimited off peak. no shaping / throttling. ideally short term contract that allows newsgroup access to giganews.
Money is secondary, as long as its < 40.00 per month, looked at BT unlimited, not sure about their policy on throttling NNTP?
thanks

Perhaps O2 will accept you?
If you have/want Sky TV then Sky LLU has a good reputation.
Sky/O2/Be are practically "unlimited" currently.
Of non-LLU an Entanet re-seller (e.g. ADSL24, UKFSN, etc.) may suit your needs with their peak/off-peak allowances.
The other "quality" non-LLU ISPs include NewNet, IDNet, Zen.

first - thanks for the helpful replies
As crow flies 2km from exchange, had some issues but BT changed me onto a new cicuit, now get 4.7 synch, 7dB stable.
LLU worries me with the distance from exchange, tried BE and credit to them they informed me that LLU speed over distance would be far worse than a std BT adsl connection
I have sky, and the MAX package would be great if i could try before getting locked in, but its another LLU, and given the fact i need adsl for work is too risky
IDNET on the face of 3 hours research seem ideal, newnet d/l limits too low, ZEN has always been the top choice for me, but IDNET forums and another 10gig per month, plus 800meg upload are diffferntiators at the same price
So before i do the sign up, any concerns with IDNET?

I've not noticed any adverse posts from IDNet users.

I have been with IDNET for over 2 years and find them to be one of the best isps around. Consistent, reliable, fair and very ethical. I, wholeheartedly, recommend them.

IDNet have about the best reputation of all on these forums so if you are happy with their prices that's your best bet.
Your only realistic alternative, based purely on price, is an Entanet reseller as already mentioned by at least one poster. I would suggest ADSL24 or vivaciti. The Entanet ALT system will hardly affect you on a 4.7Mb sync, as the best you are going to get anyway is well under 4Mbps due to the BT Profiling system which is relevant even when BT isn't your ISP.
BT (Retail) unlimited Broadband as mentioned in your opening post is not the place to go.

Ok, i dont change ISPs lightly, and if Tiscali hadnt invaded my space i would still be a Nildram customer. Signed up to IDNET this morning on their SuperMax product already had mac code so hopefully next 3 days i will be free of Tiscali
BIG thankyou to all who helped, saved the pain by using you guys
