Indeed you make a valid point but I was alluding to the fact that if one could make use of one's BB connection during the day then PlusNet's traffic shaping was of little concern.

We have now dropped the name SmartStart it's simply TR069.

Tr-069 is certainly a godsend. We've been trialling it, and all the routers we supply now support the technology. Our warehouse still have a little work to do to enable the kit to be scanned for the serial number as it leaves, but I'm hopeful we will be there in the next couple of months too. This will make set-up so much easier for the technically challenged (or technically competent people who just like an easy life!). I reckon in 12 months just about all ISPs will be doing TR-069...
