Help me choose

[link to this post]

I'm currently with eclipse and can only get a 2mb line due to the distance from my exchange. There is also no cable on my estate.

I've just found out that i'm 'capped' on my line as i've exceeded my resonable allowance of traffic, but when i took out the contract i specifically asked for an unlimited and uncapped service. i'm now on a 256k line till the end of the month.

i'm paying 18.99 a month and anyone know who else i can try to get uncapped and unlimited connection for about the same money?

Are you sure the restriction to 2Mbps still applies to your line, if you were told that a while ago? I could only have 1Mbps for the same reason at one time, and now get 7500kbps.

If you post your line stats we will know the answer to that. If you tell us your exchange as well it would help .

There are probably a few ISPs that we can suggest given that info.

Bob: Demon dialup >> Freeserve dialup >> BT Broadband >> Prodigynet >> Newnet >> O2 Standard.
Purple Cloud for domain, email and web space.

Your options are looking pretty limited then. I have no experience with the but the entanet resellers may provide what you want.

Just don't go with Demon internet, Pipex, Eclipse Internet or Tiscali unless you want poor speeds with pitiful, insulting customer service.

Then you have BT spying on virtually all your web traffic including passwords and usernames via Phorm and Virgin and Car Phone Warehouse may also start to use Phorm spyware so maybe best to avoid them to.

ISP's that love traffic shaping UKOnline(ipstream), Tiscali, Pipex, Eclipse Internet, from personal experience best avoided!
