Looking for new ISP

Ok adsl24 are horendous now, dont know what the problem is and to be frank i dont care, I pay for a decent service and expect one so I will vote with my feet and move.


Are there any isp's out there that will provide 888 up (or whatever the number is) as well as up to 8mb (and shock horror actualy meet the 8mb or near as damn it) for 30 quid a month.

I'm moving from an Entanet reseller too, and have chosen Be as my destination on the recommendation of a friend who currently uses them. If you don't need more than one fixed IP address then Be Unlimited is cheaper at only £17.50 and offers "up to" 24Mbit downstream and "up to 1.4Mbit" up, or Be Pro for £21.50 if you want to try UploadPlus to get "up to" 2.5Mbit upstream.

There is a £40 off offer somewhere (quidco?) at the moment too, though there are currently better offers (money off via quidco, three months free, and further discount if you have an O2 mobile phone) from O2 LLU which uses the same network as Be. Avoid O2 Access (the non-LLU product) though - there are a number of people reporting that the congestion there is as bad as with Enta's current problems. There are differences between the equivalent O2 and Be to look out for, the most noticable being O2's initial 12 month contract compared to Be's rolling three month notice period. Have a look at MDK's very useful comparison PDF (see the link in his signature on this post) for more details.

The disadvantages of this are that you can only get these products if Be/O2 have equipment in your exchange and if you want to switch back to a non-LLU provider you will probably have to pay the an activation/migration fee.
