Which ISP Now?

Hi All,

I'm currently with Nildram (and have been for 5 years) they used to be superb but have recently got worse and worse, I seem to be disconnected about 50% of the time these days. It got so bad I thought it must have been my router because I didn't think a legitimate company would be able to get away with such service, but unfortunately I changed my router and it's just as bad. The only good thing I can say about them is when I am eventually connected I get very good speeds (900kB/s constant).

I work from home and have to transfer large files back and forth to work servers all day so speed and reliability is pretty important (and it uses about 50-60GB per month).

Now... I have a budget of around £25 a month, could anyone recommend a good alternative? I was going to go with ADSL24 but everyone seems to be migrating away from entanet-based ISPs now. What others are there?

Ah forgot to mention in my main post (I've updated it now), none of the LLU or Cable services are available in my area . Thanks though.

In that case have a look at Zen, IDNet, and the (currently going through a poor patch) Entanet resellers.

I very much doubt you'll find business-level reliability for less than about double your £25 p.m. target. Personally I'd look at one of IDNet's business packages.

using a business ISP for personal and work use, good pings, but thanks to IT support, we have to go via their special VPN which seems to have fallen over yet again.

Paying more than £25 on the current package, but sure they have other options and company pays 50% which is cheaper than BT business broadband or was last time I checked
