Can you let us know your exchange? It might let us give a quick answer.

See http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php

A public IP is one on the www and accessible to the world. A private IP is part of a local area network.

Be Unlimited

what are the differences between a private and public ip.
A private IP is accessible in your network only. A public IP is available across the internet.

thanks for the reply,

what is exchange?

I read some where that some isps uses a public ip and separate it into several private ips, so whats the advantages of a public ip.

also I need it to be adsl

The big building in your town, where all the telephone cables go back to.
Sometimes known as a telephone exchange.

Click on the samknows link and enter your post code, or town, and it should let you know which telephone exchange you are connected to. That will let us know who can supply an ADSL service to you.

Great news!
Yet another London exchange has the full range of decent providers (despite not being a particularly large exchange....typical wink).

Go for BE or O2 (but not O2 Access).
