how does Virgin ADSL perform when gaming??

i was wondering whether people could share their experiences with virgin media's 8mb ADSL service. i'm currently on a 2mb orange package. my local exchange is some what primitive and virgin offer the cheapest packages for ADSL.

i've heard people say companies like tiscalli can offer bad gaming performance between busy hours, how does virgin compare.

Might be worth looking through the Virgin Media ADSL forum. I was with Virgin Media ADSL several years ago and speeds were very variable, and very poor at peak times. Hopefully it's changed for the better since.

For gaming going for cheapest may not be the way to go, i.e. many of the cheap IPStream based services will suffer congestion at peak times, this is why they are cheap.
