Leaving IDnet? :-( for Virgin???

Here's the thing, I have been a faithful IDnet customer for 3 years or more and have no quarrels with them they are the best ISP I have ever used. BUT their £17.99 monthly fee(+ regular overspend because of the capping) is a luxury I can no-longer afford. I am thinking of moving to Virgin as it will give me a wider pipe, bigger download limit and bundle my TV and Phone for virtually the same as my ISP alone costs now.

Thing is I've been burnt before with big companies, (I still haven't recovered from my brush with Tiscali in 05)
and dread the call-centre, no help and dis-interest that you get with the big boys.

Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for Virgin Media?

Do you mean Virgin Media ADSL or Virgin Media Cable?

Sorry, good point - it's the Virgin Media Cable 10mb service

Works fine for me.I choose it initially because I couldn't have a dish at my new house and also there wasn't a BT line.

Just to clear things up Idnet do not cap, they offer a product with certain amount of download allowance and they charge £1.00 per Gb over that allowance with no restrictions.

Yes, my mistake - I didn't mean to infer a capping policy, was just reaching for the right phrase and failing! As I said I am and have been very happy with the service I'm on - just struggling to justify the cost now....

Ah but ther's no price on quality and personal service. Miriam is really nice though.
