Help!

[link to this post]

This morning I got a bill for £785 for one months internet form Timico.
I was on KeConnect and have been paying £34 a month. usage has remained approx the same (slight increase last month) but I've used more.
The only thing they have offered so far is credit. I've asked from stats but even though the customer service person said she would send them I've received nothing to date. I've received no usage warnings or other communication.

Any ideas ?

Is the excess bill for usage above your included limit?

You need to insist to be shown where and when you used the excess data.

I'll get back on the phonet o them tomorrow and try to get the stats out of them.
I've tried loking though their website and I can't even find how much their over usage charge is.

Gary

I would. It's possible that it might be an error hence the credit but if they didn't explain this to you, there might be confusion their end.

I'd suggest getting something in writing from them too - just in case they try and charge you again in the future.

In order for a charge to be lawful and enforceable they must have detailed the charge before you incurred it - ie in the product description and terms when you registered or in a subsequent change which you agree to.

Otherwise the charge should be rejected.

Just an update.

They took payment yesterday (13th) even though their bill says payment will be taken on 15th and I have disputed the bill. They still haven't sent any bandwidth stats or in fact told me what their over usage charges are. When asked they just say I'll get back to you or I did to look into this further.

Anyone got any thoughts on how to sort this?

Is it from a credit card (CCA) or a bank account (Direct Debit).

I believe in both cases you can tell the bank or credit card company the debit was disputed and in your view therefore unauthorised and get it reclaimed (bank) or credited (Card). The procedure is different and I'm not up on the detail, but I suggest you ring whichever it is and start asking.

Hmmm. Looking at the websites they seem to have imploded KeConnect and absorbed it into Timico; who I'd never heard of.

There are lots of options on the website but PRICING seems to be quite scarce. One of the headline banners on the site mentions this:

£10+vat for 1Gb/month - cheap but very low allowance
£15+vat for 10Gb/month.

Neither of these sounds like your prior deal as that was £34. If there is only mistakes going on then presumably you've been accidentally charged on one of the above packages. BUT it is very naughty for them to take such a huge debit for it.

If its not a mistake then presumably they have moved you to a much smaller package and you could expect this to happen again. That's why you need an explanation and in writing too!

I can't find more as they demand a phone number before showing package options. No thanks to that. You could try it here as they already have your number!
