Recommendations for replacement ISP (ADSL)

Just decided to leave Madasafish so have requested my MAC code yesterday.

When check availability I am always presented with the more expensive package options presumably due to my location.

So, any advice on who to look at moving to folks?
Probably require an <8MB service with max 10GB download per month.
I had thought O2 with their mobile customer deal, note the 18mth contract!

Don't know much about the O2 Mobile Broadband if that's what you mean and it looks like the web site is in mid update again so I can't look.

Re landline broadband I'm reluctant to suggest O2 Access as although it has just picked up it is likely to suffer poor performance again within a couple of weeks . This is the fourth or fifth time.

If you are sure you will be below 12GB per month including upload and possibly get any of that into the period 3-6am then Newnet Home M.

If in doubt then Home S.

AAISP, IDNet and Zen would be the ones to consider above 20GB, and they don't count uploads either. More expensive than Newnet below 20GB, cheaper above. I can't see you exceeding the 20GB though for a couple of years or so.

IDNET I would recommend Idnet. Highly though of and regarded as on of the very best. Local, free help and support with knowledgable and friendly staff. Connection through their network is exceptionally good and there are always people onIDNETTERS the unofficial forum.

If you want to try a short term ISP to test[hem out, I suggest Metronet. I have used them for 6 years and their minimum contract is 3 months. If you want a line rental and free eves & w/e calls package included, the Phone Coop offer a good package at £26 per month

What sort of prices have you see so far - can understand it is a bit limited for choice when one sees absolutely no LLU services at the exchange.

Well mand_beckett, regarding a move away from MAAF, technically I've not had any particularly bad experience but having reached the end of a second 12-month contract you were happy for me to be paying full price without considering making me an offer to reduce my payments. So, why should I continue to demonstrate my loyalty when it doesn't seem to be returned in a timely fashion?

Well at the rate people are being recommended to IDNet, I wouldn't expect the network to remain great forever. The more popular it becomes, the more rubbish it will become. So in short, If you like IDnet, I would stop recommending it to all and sundry
