Non-LLU Provider

[link to this post]

Hi all,

I'm looking to change ISP to one with a little more monthly allowance. Currently I'm with Zen Internet and get 50GB/month for around £35. Ideally I'm looking for a provider with 100GB+ per month without costing the world. Zen do an unlimited plan at £99.99/mo which I'd change to if I could, but I simply can't afford that right now.

My local exchange is not LLU enabled and has no current date for the 21CN changeover, limiting me to ADSLMax packages. The exchange code is SMLN:
http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/SMLN

Ideally a little more upload bandwidth would be good, so I'd be prepared to pay for a business package for the 832kbps. Working around on & off-peak times is doable.

I found Aquiss, but then learned they were an EntaNET reseller and read about the whole heap of issues with the ALT system and so-forth, so unless I'm left with no choices, a non-EntaNET package would be best.

Fast.co.uk look promising, though a little expensive considering I would have to pay extra for a static IP. Plus they lock you in to a 3 month contract, which I'm not keen on, just in-case they don't work out.

Thanks for your time,

- Nx

Have a look at AAISP, I think they have an unmetered period.

They do, between 2am-6am.
9am-6pm is peak(Mon-Fri).

Thanks both of you for your replies. I had briefly looked over AAISP but put them to one side because I was unsure about the small usage allowance during peak times. Thinking carefully I'm not sure that would really be an issue.

For the less than the price of Fast.co.uk's 110GB package, with static IP, I'd be able to get a 10GB peak allowance and the premium option for the increased upload. The unlimited 2-6am is a real nice addition too, assuming it truly is unlimited.

I'd still be interested in any other suggestions, but thanks again for recommending AAISP, I'm going to take a good look at them smile

AAISP also have unmetered upload, should you need it - which many others don't have. Do with AAISP, your allowance is your FULL download allowance.

You could also look at Xilo Surfwise (100GB I think) and vivaciti Surfwise 75. (Not vivaciti's Family packages as they are Enta based. Surfwise isn't).
