If, God forbid, O2 LLU becomes bad then it's much easier to migrate if you are not dependent on its e-mail address/web-space.
O2's email a/c's are entirely independent of their BB.

1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU BB => 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU BB

No webspace. Just email. Be don't supply either, but irrelevant in view of what you say.

Eh? It's free. What makes you think it wasn't?

I've had an O2 mailbox years before I joined O2 BB for 30 days, and I've still got it since.

EDIT: Does this mean you have been paying for an email a/c all this time when you could have had one free? smile

Fair enough, whatever is easier for the person using it. Don't google have an obligation to keep you emails confidential though?

I had one too, but that was through my mobile probably is still active. I went onto o2's access service and a load of pants so left about a year or so ago.

Yes, I'm sure confidentiality will be part of their Privacy Policy.

They must submit to lawful requests though. Look at http://www.google.com/governmentrequests/ and click on data requests.

I didn't know that. Do you happen to know what happens if you give up phone and broadband? Can you maintain it as a paid for O2 address/web-space?
