New ISP Rural Area

Currently have my father on on a lite package with newnet but finding with my youngest bros usage that it constantly goes over cap.

He is in a v rural area & the options are somewhat limited, ADSL/ ADSL Max only. No LLU presence at all.

He has Sky for TV atm but I'm guessing he could only get connect.

I looked at Vivaciti's 30GB peak cap & thought that was OK

Any suggestions ?

Depending on the exchange the vivaciti could be OK or no use at all. The place to check that would be to post the exchange in the Entanet forum and ask if anyone else is on it.

My recommendation would be IDNet Home Lite at £17.99.

that looks like a better option & monthly contracts too

I live in a very rural area in the heart of Devon And like you I have no LLU. I have had no problems at all in recommending vivaciti they have serviced my needs for a couple of years now with almost flawless support and at times above and beyond my expectations!!

I am in their home60 via Entanet an almost rock solid 3Mb. it's not about who you go with but depends on who they use for the backhaul of your data.

I in my humble opinion didn't like the Muphex as vivaciti's backhauler as for me it was flakier than a lepper with exchema which took me off IP stream down a Datastream backhaul and it just didn't live upto expectations so I went back to their home60 as that was IPStreamed rather than Datastreamed and since then the rate has settled to an impressive 3Mb. And being of 3km from the exchange as the line goes (yes I drove it to find out) isn't too shoddy.

I would advise you to ask whoever you go with which package uses which backhauler Enta/Murphex IPStream/DataStream respectivley.

Especially if you sound as rural as I am.
