Plusnet to Virgin (non-cable) ASDL? Not Sure.

[link to this post]

Hi there,
I've been a customer of Plusnet broadband for over two years now. I am on one of the old packages, Plusnet Your Way Pro (I think it's called). It costs £20 per month basic and has a 20GB/month bandwidth limit; the main thing I like about this product is that - although any usage over 20GB is charged extra per GB - it is not subject to any kind of traffic management including for p2p.

I live in a non-cabled area and am considering moving to Virgin ASDL, where traffic management is used, but for the package I would be getting, there is no usage-per-month restrictions financially, just that if I used it a lot during peak hours my connection speed would be throttled.

I am just wondering if anyone else has any good or bad things to say about Virgin. I am extremely happy with my internet download speeds at all times of day with Plusnet and their customer service, so I would not want to move to Virgin if the download/upload speeds were patchy.

Or if anyone else has any other recommendations I'd love to hear them.

Thanks in advance for any help, Will

Thanks for the help. Yeah I had heard few things about Virgin's non-cable performance so good to hear it again and save me the bother or a 12-month contract with them. Thanks, Will

Agreed. I'd stay where you are, assuming you can't get a decent LLU.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk
My domains, website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Internet connection - O2 Standard.
